ISLAMABAD, Dec 15 (APP): The Federal Constitutional Court on Monday adjourned the hearing of a case concerning a reserved seat in the National Assembly allotted to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) and related nomination papers.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Aminuddin took up the matter. During the hearing, the two contesting parties in the reserved seat dispute, Sadaf Ihsan and Hina Bibi, appeared before the court.
However, due to the unavailability of JUI-F counsel Kamran Murtaza, the court adjourned the proceedings for one week.
The court was informed that Sadaf Ihsan had earlier been elected as a Member of the National Assembly on a reserved seat on behalf of JUI-F. Subsequently, the party disassociated itself from her and nominated Hina Bibi as its candidate.
The court observed that it would proceed further in the matter after hearing the arguments of the parties at the next hearing.
