FBISE introduces revised grading formula for SSC, HSSC examinations

ISLAMABAD, Oct 7 (APP):The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), on Tuesday, revised the grading formula for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examinations, to be implemented from the upcoming annual exams.
According to an official notification No.RES&ACAD/2543-5775-00075/330 issued on October 7, 2025, students securing 96–100 percent marks will now be awarded an A++ grade, while those obtaining 91–95 percent will receive A+, and 86–90 percent will be graded as A.
Similarly, the percentage range for B++, B+, and B grades has been fixed at 81–85, 76–80, and 71–75 percent slab respectively. Students achieving 61–70 percent will receive a C+ grade, while those with 51–60 percent will get a C.
Grade D will be given to students securing 40–50 percent marks, whereas those scoring below 40 percent will be required to reappear in the examination.
The decision was approved during the 182nd meeting of the Inter Board Coordination Committee (IBCC) held on August 7–8, 2025.
The revised grading scheme stands implemented with effect from first annual examinations for 2026 for SSC-I and HSSC-I level and subsequently with effect from first annual examinations 2027 for SSC-II and HSSC-II level.
