Fawad attends launch of vision of Saudi Arabia’s Culture Ministry

ISLAMABAD, Mar 28 (APP):Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Wednesday night in Riyadh announced his ministry’s vision and strategy at a ceremony attended by an audience representing various cultural, artistic and heritage sectors in the kingdom, along with senior government officials, prominent Saudi intellectuals and artists, and officials from around the world.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, who was in Saudi Arabia on a two-day visit on the special invitation of the Saudi Minister of Culture, also attended the event. Provincial Minister for Information Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shaukat Yusufzai also accompanied the minister.
The event’s programme included musical pieces from the Saudi heritage and a dinner party hosted by Prince Badr bin Abdullah.
Prince Badr bin Abdullah thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohamad bin Salman for their wise vision and the establishment of a special ministry for culture in the kingdom.
In a statement on the occasion, the minister said that the Ministry of Culture would play a major role in realizing the vision of the Kingdom 2030.
During the ceremony, the vision and directions of the Ministry of Culture, which set its cultural aspirations, were unveiled. Initiatives to achieve the aspirations were also announced.
Among the most prominent initiatives were the establishment of King Salman International Arabic Language Complex, the establishment of the Cultural Growth Fund, the launch of the Cultural Scholarship Programme, the development of public libraries and the establishment of the International Red Sea Film Festival. The ceremony was the official launch of the Ministry of Culture, which was established in June 2018.
