ISLAMABAD, Oct 22 (APP):Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Monday asked public relations officers (PROs) to play a pro-active role in projecting the positive image of Pakistan.
Talking to a group of PROs here in a meeting, he said in the present era wars of narratives were being fought and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government fully realized the importance and power of the media. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting as well as the PROs helped in image building of the country, he added.
He said timely, correct and effective dissemination of information was responsibility of the PROs, who should create awareness among the masses about the real change in the country.
The minister said coordination and sharing of information among various ministries would be further improved and strengthened. Information officers were a source of contact between the government and the masses, who were highlighting the government initiatives, he added.
Besides Secretary Information and Broadcasting Shafqat Jalil, senior officers of the ministry were also present during the meeting.
