LAHORE, Dec 2 (APP): The City District Government Lahore on Wednesday continued payment of compensation to farmers under the Prime Minister’s Kissan Package and a large number of farmers from different parts of the district received pay orders here
on Wednesday.
The CDGL has set up 5 centres at designated places at Tehsil level where the staff of Revenue and other departments of th district remained present to facilitate the farmers.
Under the PM Package, total 9707 farmers from various
areas of the district had been selected for getting Rs 5000
per acre after verification by the Revenue Department.
Sources in district administration told APP that more
than 4000 farmers have so far received their payments through
these centres and the remaining will get the compensation
during next few days.
The district administration on the directions by the DCO,
is providing meals to farmers besides free medical treatments
at camps on the points.
