Those facilitating Rao Anwar to be held answerable: CJP

ISLAMABAD, March 19 (APP):Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar Monday observed that those who were facilitating Rao Anwar, former Senior Superintendent of Police, would be held answerable by the Supreme Court.
The CJP also observed that absconding Rao Anwar still had a chance to surrender himself and become part of the investigation into the alleged extrajudicial killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud. Rao Anwar would not get protection anywhere else except the court, he added.
The chief justice made the remarks while heading a three-member bench which heard a suo motu case about Naqeebullah’s killing in an alleged encounter.
During the course of proceedings, Governor of State Bank of Pakistan Tariq Bajwa informed the court that Rao Anwar maintained two banks accounts, which had been frozen. “Anwar receives his salary in the same accounts,” he added
Later, the case was adjourned till date in office.
