ISLAMABAD, Jun 17 (APP):Citizens in Islamabad can now access key vehicle-related services from their homes through a new initiative launched by the Excise and Taxation Department.
According to the spokesman of Excise department, by calling the department’s helpline, 051-111-383-383, residents can book an appointment for services such as new vehicle registration, transfer of ownership, and other excise-related procedures. A departmental team will then visit the applicant’s location to complete the required process.
The move is aimed at improving public access to government services while reducing the need for repeated visits to offices. The department said the doorstep service will help residents complete official vehicle documentation in a more convenient manner.
In another step to facilitate citizens and support tax collection targets, the Excise and Taxation Department has decided to keep its offices open on Fridays and Saturdays. The extended working days will allow people to visit excise offices during their holidays and complete pending transactions without disrupting their regular schedules.
Services available on these additional working days include vehicle registration, transfer of ownership, payment of token tax, and other excise-related matters. The department expects the decision to increase service accessibility and encourage timely completion of vehicle documentation and tax payments.
Officials said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to improve service delivery and provide citizens with easier access to government facilities. The department has also urged vehicle owners to make use of the available services and complete their registration and tax-related requirements on time.
For appointments, information, or assistance regarding doorstep services and office visits, citizens can contact the Excise and Taxation Department through its helpline at 051-111-383-383. The department stated that both the home service facility and extended office hours are now available for residents seeking vehicle-related services.
The new measures reflect the department’s focus on making public services more accessible while ensuring that vehicle registration, ownership transfer, and tax payment processes remain available throughout the week.
