ISLAMABAD, Jan 7 (APP):Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain Tuesday said the evolving consensus by all the political parties on Pakistan Army Act was commendable.
Talking to a private news channel, he expressed hope that the opposition parties would cooperate with the government regarding legislation on national issues in the larger interest.
The minister said the government had constituted a parliamentary legislation committee under the leadership of Defence Minister Pervez Khattak to approach other political parties for developing consensus over the matter of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) service extension, adding, the committee had achieved success in that regard.
He said all the political parties had showed maturity over the extension issue, urging them to show same spirit for making reforms in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) laws and appointment of members of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
