EU to provide Euro 83 mln for uprooted people, TVET III in Pakistan
EU Ambassador meets women leaders of community organizations

ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 (APP): European Union on Friday signed two agreements with Pakistan to support Technical and Vocational Education and Training sector (TVET III) and uprooted people in the country.

Tariq Bajwa, Secretary, Economic Affairs Division, Government of Pakistan and Jean-Francois Cautain, Ambassador of the European Union signed the agreements during a ceremony held here.

According to agreements the EU would provide Euro 49 million for support of TVET III while it would provide assistance of Euro 34 million for aid of uprooted people in Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion Jean-Francois Cautain highlighted the role, the EU was playing in the development sector of Pakistan and underlined that the European Union remained committed to assisting in this sector in the future also.

Tariq Bajwa acknowledged the role of the EU in helping the Government of Pakistan to achieve sustainable socio-economic objectives and signing of the agreements and the European Union’s continued commitment to the development sector in the country.
