ISLAMABAD, Jul 28 (APP): Pakistan’s Ambassador to Indonesia M Aqil Nadeem Thursday said he would appeal to Indonesian President to postpone execution of Zulfiqar Ali and review his case.
Talking to a private news channel, he said, Pakistan Embassy, many international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and even Indonesian NGOs think that Zulfiqar should be given a chance of fair trial.
He said Pakistan Embassy has highlighted this case since
2005 and it was result of our efforts that the execution of
Zulfiqar was stopped till 2016.
M. Aqil Nadeem said the Indonesian government should have
informed Pakistani mission and allowed Zulfiqar to contact Pakistan Consulate when he was arrested.
