ISLAMABAD, Mar 04 (APP):Marking World Engineers Day, Chairman of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Engr Waseem Nazir Wednesday paid tribute to engineers across Pakistan and abroad, commending their dedication, innovation, and professional excellence in advancing national development.
In his message, the PEC chairman said engineers are at the heart of nation-building, playing a pivotal role in designing and developing infrastructure that connects cities and communities, introducing technologies that modernize industries, and delivering practical solutions to complex challenges in energy, water management, environment, healthcare, and digital systems.
He noted that from sustainable urban planning to industrial expansion and technological self-reliance, engineers are driving economic stability and long-term progress in the country.
Engr Waseem Nazir emphasized that World Engineers Day serves as a reminder for society to acknowledge and value the vital contributions of engineers. “Much of their work takes place behind the scenes, yet it directly impacts public safety, productivity, and innovation,” he said, adding that creating greater professional opportunities, support systems, and recognition for engineers is essential to strengthening Pakistan’s development trajectory.
Reaffirming the commitment of the Pakistan Engineering Council, he said PEC will continue to regulate the engineering profession, enhance quality education, build professional capacity, and promote research and innovation in line with international standards.
Guided by the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for a progressive and self-reliant Pakistan, the chairman urged engineers to uphold integrity, responsibility, and excellence in their service to the nation.
He also called for a renewed collective commitment to empowering engineers and working together to build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous future for the country.
