Eight cattle farms sealed, 6 detained as ICT admin enforces ban in residential areas

ISLAMABAD, Sep 29 (APP):The Islamabad district administration on Tuesday sealed 8 cattle farms and detained 6 individuals during an operation on Lehtrar Road as part of efforts to address public health, sanitation and environmental concerns.

The action was carried out by the Assistant Commissioner Nilore Saiful Islam Khattak against facilities operating in violation of restrictions on cattle farming in residential areas, said the spokesman of ICT administration here.

He said the Islamabad district administration has imposed a ban on the establishment and operation of cattle farms, including cow and buffalo sheds, in residential areas of the federal capital due to concerns related to public health, cleanliness and environmental pollution.

In line with these restrictions, the Assistant Commissioner Nilore conducted an operation on Lehtrar Road against illegal cattle farms operating in residential localities. During the action, authorities sealed 8 cattle farms found to be functioning in violation of the ban.

The administration also detained 6 individuals and shifted them to a lock-up for breaching the regulations. Officials said the operation was part of ongoing enforcement measures aimed at ensuring compliance with rules designed to protect public health and maintain sanitation standards in residential neighbourhoods.

The district administration stated that cattle farming activities are not permitted in residential areas because of their impact on hygiene, waste management and the surrounding environment. Authorities have warned that action will continue against those who violate the ban.

The operation on Lehtrar Road reflects the administration’s efforts to implement regulations related to health, sanitation and environmental protection across Islamabad. Officials reiterated that strict measures would be taken against any unlawful cattle farming activity in residential zones.
