QUETTA, Nov 06 (APP):Balochistan Health Secretary Dawood Khan Khilji on Thursday emphasized that every possible effort would be made to appoint specialist doctors, supply of medicines and improve basic health facilities in all hospitals and health centers across the province.
He said this while paying a detailed visit to the Government Medical Store Depot. Special Secretary Shahak Baloch and MSD officials were also present on the occasion.
Additional Director Medical Store Depot Mir Yousaf Khan gave him a detailed briefing about the department. He said that under the current financial year, up to eighty percent of medicines have been delivered to all districts of the province so far and the remaining twenty percent of medicines will also be sent.
The Health Secretary said during the briefing that steps should be taken to appoint Procurement Specialist and other vacant posts in the Medical Store Depot on an emergency basis so that the performance of the department could be further improved.
He said that all resources will be utilized to allocate funds for overtime to Class IV and their in-charge in MSD and to provide vehicles required for the supply of medicines.
Secretary Health Dawood Khan Khilji also inaugurated a modern software to ensure timely supply of medicines across the province which would ensure transparency in the delivery of medicines.
Later, Secretary Health Dawood Khan Khilji chaired a meeting held at Balochistan Human Capital Investment Project (Health) in which Special Secretary Health Shahak Baloch also participated.
In the meeting, the Secretary Health was briefed about the primary care roadmap in all districts of the province.
He was informed about MNCH services, essential medicines, availability of doctors, EPI site facilities and immunization facilities.
He issued instructions that labor rooms should be made functional immediately in all hospitals of the province.
He said that the health sector is of great importance and is directly related to human lives and in it, every individual is responsible for his duties in which no one could be given any concession.
The meeting was attended by Haider Ghani Project Manager Access, Aqib Shafi Project Manager Access, and Moazzam Bhutto Senior Associate Access, among others.
