Education state minister, Azerbaijan Media Council chief discuss media cooperation

BAKU, Oct 7 (APP): Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar held a meeting with Chairman of the Media and Broadcasting Council of Azerbaijan Ahmad Ismayilov on the sidelines of the CICA Media Forum, where both sides emphasized the need for closer cooperation and continuous exchange of experience between the two countries.
Wajiha Qamar was heading a Pakistani delegation comprising Ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan is Qasim Mohiuddin, Head of Pakistan TV Adil Shahzeb and other officials at the meeting.
During the meeting, Wajiha Qamar and Ahmad Ismayilov highlighted the importance of developing relations in the media sector and promoting joint projects in various formats.
The discussions also focused on strengthening institutional linkages between media organisations, news agencies and national broadcasters through regular consultations and communication channels, as well as facilitating closer interaction between relevant media institutions.
Both sides laid emphasis on the importance of facilitating journalist exchanges through study visits, joint media forums, fellowships, training programmes and specialised programmes, including in fact-checking, digital media, artificial intelligence, emerging technologies and multimedia production.
They further exchanged views on preserving trust in the global media landscape, promoting media literacy, mitigating the impacts of disinformation, enhancing the quality of media content and developing approaches suited to the new challenges posed by digital platforms.
They also discussed the potential for joint digital initiatives, including digital storytelling and multimedia content, as well as joint production of films, documentaries, television programmes and other digital content highlighting shared history, culture, heritage and contemporary relations.
