ISLAMABAD, Dec 09 (APP):The Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Nadeem Mahbub, directed National Education Foundation (NEF) for expansion of the Khawajasara Learning Initiative in Islamabad, during briefing on Tuesday.
According to details, NEF is currently operating a dedicated center in Islamabad under the initiative in Barri Imam structured around four key components: Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, Skill Development, Social Awareness and Employability, which remains the leading components of the program.
The Barri Imam Centre has been functional for the past two years and is currently serving 25 learners, and an in-house stitching workshop has also been established to equip learners with practical skills.
The Secretary further directed that the center should also introduce a market-driven, employable skill to ensure that learners’ abilities are aligned with current industry demands.
Recognizing the growing potential of e-commerce and digital marketplaces, he emphasized the importance of training learners in crafting small, high-value accessories and handmade products that can be easily marketed and sold online.
The Khawajasara Learning Initiative stands as a strong testament to the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and NEF’s continued commitment to promoting dignity, empowerment, and equitable educational opportunities for all segments of society.
