ISLAMABAD, Oct 24 (APP):Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood has directed the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) to frame a strategy within one week for the admissions of out of school children in the federal capital.
During his visit to FDE, the minister asked authorities concerned to make a proper plan for bringing out of school children to the educational institutions.
The minister was briefed by the FDE officials that around 30,000 children were out of schools in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
He asked the authorities for use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the educational institutions. The minister underlined the need for establishment of more schools for girls.
Later, the minister also visited the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PIERA) to check the performance of institution.
On the occasion, while expressing reservations over the increase in fee of private schools, the minister said that fee should be bearable. He directed the PIERA officials to provide relief to the parents regarding fee issues.
The PIERA officials briefed the minister about fee issues, saying that the parents and school owners had contacted the supreme court in this regard.
They also assured to formulate a strategy in this regard as soon we received directions from the courts.
