ISLAMABAD, Mar 6 (APP):Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Tuesday summoned the parliamentarians and party-leaders to probe horsetrading allegations levelled by them in the recently held Senate election.
In a notification issued here , the ECP has directed the parliamentarians to appear in person or through counsel before the Election Commission Secretariat, Islamabad on March 14 at 10:00 am, failing which the commission would take the decision on its own.
The commission took the step after taking notice of alleging statements of these politicians published in newspapers and on electronic media, and to take action against those involved in horse-trading.
The ECP has issued notices to eight parliamentarians, including Imran Khan, Farooq Sattar, Mariryum Aurangzeb,
Shahabuddin Khan, Azma Zahid Bukhari, Ameer Muqam, Khawaja Izhar and Raza Haroon.
