CPEC to enhance Pakistan's national strength, international status: Global Times

ISLAMABAD, Jun 7 (APP): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday adjourned the case of irregularities in the party funds of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) received from abroad till June 10.

The ECP’s bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sardar
Muhammad Raza Khan heard the case filed in November last year by
PTI’s former information secretary Akbar S Babar who had alleged
corruption and violation of laws in collection of donations from
overseas Pakistanis and managing party funds.

During the course of hearing, counsel of Akbar S Babar argued
that PTI was using delaying tactics and pointed out the absence of
their lawyer.

He requested the bench to issue production orders as all
evidences of receiving funding from abroad are with ECP now.
To this, CEC summoned the PTI’s counsel on June 10 and
adjourned the matter.
