Economic revival govt's priority: Dr Firdous

SIALKOT, April 28 (APP)::Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said economic revival was the priority of the government.

Addressing a public meeting at Sambrial here on Sunday, she said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was making all-out efforts to revive the national economy and take full advantage of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

She said only the PTI government had the capability to steer the country out of the prevailing crises under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

She said the previous rulers used politics only for making money for decades. The corrupt rulers damaged the national economy badly and ruined the national institutions for personal gains.

Dr Firdous said whenever the accountability process was launched in the country, all the corrupt politicians and former rulers got united and start crying in the name of protecting democracy.

She said every corrupt element would have to face ruthless accountability by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The special assistant said innocent children were dying of hunger in Thar, but the ruling party in Sindh was busy in criticising the PTI government.

Earlier, the locals accorded a warm welcome to Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan upon her arrival here for the first time after taking charge of the current office.

She was brought to Sialkot in a big procession of vehicles from Sambrial. People standing along road showered rose petals on her vehicle. Local MNAs, MPAs and PTI activists were also present.

Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said her induction as special assistant to the prime minister on information and broadcasting showed the confidence the premier had in her.
