Earthquake jolted, 40 injured including seven women

PESHAWAR, Dec 26 (APP): As many as 40 people including seven women and children were injured when earthquake jolted Peshawar late Friday night.

The earthquake was recorded at 6.9 on the Richter scale.

The Epicenter of the quake was located 203 kilometer underground somewhere along the border area of Afghanistan.

The tremors jolted many parts of the province including Nowshera, Dera Ismail Khan, Charsada, Kohat, Mardan, Swat, Chitral, Dir, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Mansehra, Abbot Abbod and other districts of the province.

Spokesmen of big hospitals in Peshawar said that the injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), Khyber Teaching Hospital and Hayatabad medical complex.

Some of the injured were discharged from hospital while others are still under treatment who will be discharged soon.
