Dry weather to prevail across most parts of country; smog likely in Punjab

ISLAMABAD, Oct 31 (APP):The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast dry weather over most parts of the country on Saturday, while cold conditions are expected in hilly areas during morning and night hours.
According to the Met Office, the persistent dry spell and rising atmospheric pollution are likely to keep several districts of Punjab under the influence of smog. The public has been advised to take precautionary measures to minimize health risks.
In Islamabad and surrounding areas, the weather will remain dry with slightly cold conditions in the morning and night. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, most districts will experience dry weather, while hilly regions are likely to remain cold during early and late hours.
In Punjab, dry conditions will continue in most parts, including Murree, Galiyat and adjoining areas. Smog or fog is expected to persist in Lahore, Gujranwala, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Okara, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, Multan and nearby regions.
In Sindh, hot and dry weather is expected to prevail, particularly in interior districts, while southeastern and coastal areas may experience partly cloudy conditions. Balochistan will remain mostly dry, though northern parts of the province are likely to turn cold during the morning and night hours.
Cold and dry conditions are also expected in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
During the past 24 hours, dry weather prevailed across most regions of the country, while hilly areas experienced colder temperatures and smog persisted in Punjab. The lowest minimum temperatures recorded were Leh (-2 C), Skardu (0 C), and Ziarat (1 C).
The minimum/maximum temperatures recorded were Islamabad 11/30, Lahore 18/31, Karachi 24/36, Peshawar 13/30, Quetta 07/27, Gilgit 03/27, Muzaffarabad 10/27, Skardu 00/18, Murree 09/22, Faisalabad 17/30, Multan 17/31, Srinagar 03/24, Jammu 16/30, Leh -02/13, Pulwama 02/24, Anantnag 03/25, Shopian 02/24, Baramulla 02/25.
