Dry weather likely across country; rain-thunderstorm expected in upper areas Friday evening

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly dry weather across most of the country on Friday, with chances of hot weather conditions to persist in the plains during the day. 

ISLAMABAD, Oct 08 (APP): The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly dry weather across most of the country on Friday, with chances of hot weather conditions to persist in the plains during the day.
Northern hilly areas are likely to remain partly cloudy tonight.
Partly cloudy skies are expected in the upper parts of the country, with isolated rain, windstorm and thunderstorm likely in upper and lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, the Potohar region and northeastern Punjab during the evening and night.
In Islamabad and surrounding areas, the day will remain dry, but the night may turn partly cloudy with rain, wind or thunderstorm, with a 35 percent probability.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, most districts will remain dry during the day, though Kohistan, Abbottabad, Waziristan, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan may see rain-windstorm or thunderstorm in the evening and night.
Punjab will largely remain dry, with partly cloudy conditions in upper districts in the afternoon, followed by isolated rain-windstorm or thunderstorm at night in Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Rawalpindi, Mianwali and surrounding areas.
Sindh and Balochistan are expected to remain dry and hot during the day, while Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will be partly cloudy, with isolated rain, wind or thunderstorm also likely in Kashmir.
During the past 24 hours, weather remained dry in most parts of the country, with only 1 mm of rain recorded in Babusar.
The highest maximum temperature of the day, 40C, was recorded in Nokkundi, Sibbi, Mithi, Dadu and Sukkur.
Among major cities, Islamabad recorded a minimum of 19C and a maximum of 32C, Lahore 24 and 33, Karachi 26 and 34, Peshawar 22 and 33, and Quetta 12 and 32.
Multan was the warmest of the major cities at 36C, with a minimum of 26C, followed by Faisalabad at 25 and 35 and Muzaffarabad at 19 and 35. In the north, Gilgit recorded 10 and 28, Murree 11 and 21, and Skardu 06 and 21.
Across the Line of Control, Srinagar recorded 11 and 28, Jammu 20 and 32, and Leh 4 and 17.
