Dry weather expected across most parts of country: PMD
ISLAMABAD, Sep 21 (APP):Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD ) Monday forecast mainly dry weather for most parts of the country on Tuesday, with hot conditions likely to prevail in plain areas during daytime,
According to the weather forecast issued by the department, partly cloudy weather is expected in northern hilly areas, while light rain may occur in Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas during the afternoon.
In Islamabad and adjoining areas, mainly dry weather is expected, with hot conditions during the daytime.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, dry weather is likely in most districts, with hot conditions in plain areas during daytime. Upper districts are expected to remain partly cloudy, while isolated places in Kohistan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Dera Ismail Khan and adjoining areas may receive light rain-thunderstorm during the afternoon.
Most districts of Punjab are expected to remain dry, while plain areas may experience hot weather accompanied by gusty winds. Partly cloudy weather with light rain is likely in Murree, Galiyat and adjoining areas during the afternoon.
In Sindh, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most districts, while coastal areas are likely to remain partly cloudy.
Balochistan is also expected to experience hot and dry weather.
Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to experience partly cloudy weather, with light rain at isolated places.
During the past 24 hours, dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country, while plain areas remained hot. Light rain was recorded in Mithi, Ziarat, Babusar and Parachinar.
Mithi and Ziarat received the highest rainfall of 7 millimetres each, followed by Babusar 4mm and Parachinar 1mm.
Lasbella recorded the highest maximum temperature at 43 C, while Hyderabad, Khairpur, Shaheed Benazirabad and Chhor recorded 42C.
The minimum and maximum temperatures recorded in major cities were: Islamabad 20-34C, Lahore 24-35C, Karachi 27-41C, Peshawar 24-36C, Quetta 18-33C, Gilgit 12-30C, Muzaffarabad 18-36C, Skardu 9-24C, Murree 13-23C, Faisalabad 25-35C and Multan 26-36C.
