Dr Tariq urges youth to verify content before sharing on social media

ISLAMABAD, Nov 7 (APP):Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Friday urged the social media users to verify and cross-check the information and content before sharing on social networking sites, highlighting that fake and disinformation could be used for nefarious and reprehensible motives.
Addressing a press conference here flanked by Minister of State for Interior Talal Cahudhry, the federal minister said that evil elements use fake videos and post on social media to propagate against the country.
“Such videos and footage portrait that Islamabad police misconduct with people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) during checking at check post in federal capital and termed it a totally false, propaganda, and conspiracy against the national institutions,” he added.
Terming content and videos an agenda of enemies to incite the AJK’s masses against the country’s institutions, he said that such elements would not be achieved success against their negative designs.
“It was our foremost responsibility to expose these elements to discourage this practice in the future,” he added.
Dr. Tariq apprised the media that India was involved in funding elements who were uploading hate content and footage on social networking sites to disseminate propaganda, refuting all the hate content on social media regarding Pakistan.
He said that government, civil and military leadership have love and unwavering commitment with people of Kashmir and Pakistan would continue their moral, political, and diplomatic support to every forum till logical conclusion of Kashmir cause from Indian tyranny and occupation.
He said that the Kashmir conflict has been resurfaced internationally following the successful operation of Marka-e-Haq, highlighting the overwhelming and respectful response of the world after Marka-e-Haq.
“Kashmir is a jugular vein of Pakistan and nobody can diminish Pakistani people love and respect for Kashmiris through propaganda,” he expressed.
Responding to a question, Dr Taria Fazal said that from 29 September to 4 October, the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKJAAC) launched a region-wide shutter-down and wheel-jam strike across AJK.
During the protest, he said that a tragic incident occurred between police and protestors in which few police personnel were injured, a brave political and social worker woman had taken police officials in his own vehicle and rushed to Bagh hospital where some unknown elements attacked her vehicle and portraited that incident took place in Rawalpindi and uploaded footage on social media to defame Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police.
Dr. Tariq said that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif constituted a team to initiate talks with joint action committee and resolve the matter amicably.
He concluded that those elements wanted to see agitation and chaos in AJK, failed in their designs.
