Dr. Ramesh Kumar meets Caretaker Balochistan CM

ISLAMABAD, Sep 14 (APP): The Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Task Force for Gandhara Tourism, State Minister Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, on Thursday met with the caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan Ali Mardan Khan Domki to discuss the Gandhara Corridor.

The Gandhara Corridor is a proposed tourism corridor that would connect the federal capital Islamabad with the capitals of Buddhist-majority countries by air.

The corridor would showcase the rich Gandhara civilization, which flourished in what is now Pakistan and Afghanistan from the 2nd century BCE to the 5th century CE.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister of Balochistan described the ancient Gandhara civilization as a “mirror of tolerance, tolerance, and brotherhood.” He also appreciated Dr. Ramesh’s stance that the presence of Gandhara archaeological sites in all federal units of the country can contribute to promoting national integration.

Dr. Ramesh Kumar expressed his gratitude to the Balochistan government for the protection of the Hindu minority community in various places of the province, including Kalat, and the best care of the Hinglaj Mata Temple.

Senior officials, including the Chief Secretary and the IG, Police also assured Dr. Ramesh of their full support for the development of Gandhara tourism.

In a separate meeting with Corps Commander Quetta, Dr. Ramesh Kumar discussed the overall security situation in Quetta. He appreciated the efforts of the security agencies on maintaining law and order.

The meeting between Dr. Ramesh Kumar and the caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan is a significant development for the Gandhara Corridor project. The Chief Minister’s support for the project is a major boost and the assurances of support from senior officials are encouraging.

With the support of the Balochistan government and other stakeholders, the Gandhara Corridor has the potential to become a major tourism destination and a source of economic growth for Pakistan.
