DPM, IAEA DG agree on vitality of Islamabad MoU’s implementation to defuse tensions

ISLAMABAD, Sep 15 (APP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar spoke with Ambassador Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and candidate for United Nations Secretary-General.
During the telephonic discussion late Monday night, they discussed the evolving regional situation and agreed that implementation of the Islamabad MoU between the United States and Iran remained the best course of action to defuse tensions.
Ambassador Grossi offered technical support should the need arise.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s enduring commitment to advancing the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and to respecting international law and treaties.
He also highlighted the crucial importance of the UN system in realising the global peace and development agenda, and wished Ambassador Grossi well in his campaign for the office of UNSG.
