KUALA LUMPUR, Jul 11 (APP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM/FM), Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, met with his Vietnamese counterpart Bui Thanh Son, for a cordial exchange focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation on the sidelines of the 32nd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) here Friday.
During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening Pakistan-Vietnam relations, particularly in the areas of trade, investment and people-to-people connectivity.
They discussed ways to expand economic engagement and foster greater cultural and diplomatic exchanges between the two nations.
Highlighting the untapped potential of bilateral trade, DPM Dar expressed Pakistan’s keen interest in building stronger commercial ties with Vietnam, one of Asia’s emerging economies. The two sides agreed to explore avenues for collaboration in sectors such as textiles, agriculture, technology, and tourism.
Ishaq Dar also accepted an invitation to visit Vietnam at a mutually convenient time, underscoring the momentum for increased high-level engagement between Islamabad and Hanoi.
