DPM Dar reviews SAARC 2027 Games preparations, underscores govt’s resolve to promote games nationwide

Deputy Prime Minister/ Foreign Minister (DPM/FM), Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday while reviewing preparations for the 2027 SAARC Games in Pakistan highlighted that the government has made a resolve to promote games and sports activities across the country as such events would further strengthen the country’s soft image in the world. 

ISLAMABAD, Jul 2 (APP): Deputy Prime Minister/ Foreign Minister (DPM/FM), Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday while reviewing preparations for the 2027 SAARC Games in Pakistan highlighted that the government has made a resolve to promote games and sports activities across the country as such events would further strengthen the country’s soft image in the world.
  The DPM/FM chaired a committee meeting to review preparations for the 2027 SAARC Games in Pakistan here, a DPM’s Office news release said.
The committee decided to immediately establish the SAARC Games Secretariat in Islamabad, fast-track the upgradation of the Pakistan Sports Complex, and constitute key sub-committees to oversee finances, infrastructure, and venues.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to delivering the 2027 SAARC Games along international standards while extending full support and cooperation to national sports federations to prepare and train athletes for outstanding performances.
The Meeting was attended by Minister Inter Provincial Coordination Rana Sanaullah Khan, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Secretary IPC, high officials from provincial departments, Sports Board and other relevant government institutions.
