DPM Dar reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to R-4 framework
NEW YORK, Sep 22 (APP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Tuesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to the R-4 framework and expressed the need for continued engagement to enhance regional peace and prosperity.
The deputy prime minister said this at the meeting of the Regional-4 (R-4) group held on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly here.
Besides Deputy Prime Minister Dar, the meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
The ministers exchanged views on the latest situation in the region and expressed full support for efforts aimed at a peaceful resolution of the situation.
They reiterated their support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their inalienable right to self-determination and to establish an independent, sovereign, viable, and contiguous State of Palestine based on 4 June 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
