DPM Dar, Jordianian FM express grave concern over worsening situation in Palestine
ISLAMABAD, Jul 28 (APP):Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister (DPM/FM), Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday received a telephone call from Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Jordan Ayman Safadi, where the two leaders expressed grave concern over the worsening situation in Palestine, particularly the continued Israeli military actions in Gaza and the Occupied West Bank, including intensified air strikes, ongoing ground operations, and escalating settler violence.
During the interaction, the two leaders strongly condemned the repeated mass incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem by Israeli settlers and far-right groups, as well as the restrictions imposed on Palestinian worshippers, stressing that such provocative actions violate the sanctity of the holy site, inflame tensions, and undermine prospects for peace.
They also discussed Jordan’s proposal to convene a meeting of a group of Arab and Islamic countries to take stock of the evolving situation and coordinate diplomatic efforts and responses.
DPM/FM Safadi appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role and efforts for regional peace and stability and expressed hope for positive outcomes from the ongoing diplomatic initiatives.
DPM/FM Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and reiterated Pakistan’s principled support for a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace through the implementation of the two-State solution, with the establishment of an independent, contiguous, and viable State of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
