ISLAMABAD, Jul 29 (APP):Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM/FM), Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received a telephone call on Wednesday from Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty, during which the two sides discussed the worsening situation in Palestine and the broader regional security environment.
The two foreign ministers expressed grave concern over the deteriorating situation in Gaza and the Occupied West Bank, condemning continued Israeli military actions, escalating settler violence, and repeated violations at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem, a DPM’s Office news release said.
DPM Dar and Dr Abdelatty underscored the urgent need for an immediate end to hostilities, unhindered humanitarian access for the Palestinian people, and full respect for international law.
The two ministers also discussed a Jordanian proposal to convene a meeting of Arab and Islamic countries aimed at coordinating diplomatic efforts in support of the Palestinian cause.
The conversation further touched on recent regional developments, with both sides emphasizing the importance of restraint, dialogue, and diplomacy to prevent further escalation and to preserve peace and stability in the region.
