ISLAMABAD, May 21 (APP):The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, in collaboration with LearnOBots and the Institute of Space Technology (IST), successfully organized the Disruptive Education Innovation Expo 2026 – Final Competitions & Prize Distribution Ceremony at IMCG F-7/4, Islamabad.
The event marked the culmination of competitions under the flagship initiative “Disruptive Education: Transforming Schools into Foundries of Emerging Tech,” implemented across 150 schools and colleges under the Federal Directorate of Education.
The project has impacted more than 56,000 students across Islamabad, engaged through the digital Learning Management System (LMS), out of these nearly 2,500 students have entered freelancing and digital economy pathways.
Through this initiative, students were introduced to emerging technology domains including Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Computational Thinking, STEAM Education, Computer Science, and Entrepreneurship, enabling public-sector students to develop future-ready skills and innovation capabilities.
The Expo showcased 42 finalist STEAM and emerging technology projects developed by students after a rigorous competition process conducted across participating institutions.
The event was graced by Ms. Rabia Naseem Farooqi, Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, as Chief Guest. Other distinguished dignitaries attending the ceremony included Syed Junaid Akhlaq, Director General, Senior Joint Secretary, Federal Directorate of Education, Mr. Javed Iqbal Mirza, Project Director / Director (Admin), FDE, Maj. Gen. (R) Syed Najeeb Ahmed, Vice Chancellor, Institute of Space Technology (IST); Mr. Shamyl Bin Mansoor, Co-Founder LearnOBots; senior officials from the Federal Directorate of Education; project leadership; school principals; and representatives from partner institutions.
During the ceremony, the project team presented souvenirs to the distinguished guests and distributed awards and prizes among winning students and Tech Fellows.
The dignitaries interacted with students during the exhibition and appreciated the impactful collaboration between FDE and LearnOBots in promoting STEAM and emerging technology education across public-sector institutions.
They commended the creativity, innovation, and practical problem-solving skills demonstrated by students through projects in robotics, AI, IoT, digital applications, and scientific innovation.
In the final competition results, IMCG Koth Hathiyal & IMSG Koth Hathiyal (I-VIII) secured first position with a cash prize of PKR 50,000, IMCG Humak secured second position with a cash prize of PKR 30,000 while IMSG G-7/3 secured third position with a cash prize of PKR 20,000.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment toward strengthening future-ready education and expanding access to emerging technology learning opportunities for students across federal educational institutions.
