Digital Youth Hub tops 800,000 users as PMYP, UNICEF deepen partnership

ISLAMABAD, Jun 02 (APP):Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan on Tuesday met Kevin Frey, Chief Executive Officer of Generation Unlimited, and Pernille Ironside, UNICEF Country Representative in Pakistan, at the Prime Minister’s Office to strengthen collaboration on youth development, digital inclusion, skills training and employment generation.

The meeting focused on the ways government and international partners can expand opportunities for Pakistan’s young population through innovative and technology driven initiatives.

Senior representatives from PMYP and UNICEF attended the meeting, which reviewed ongoing efforts to equip young people with market relevant skills and connect them with education, employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

A major highlight of the discussion was the rapid growth of the Digital Youth Hub, which has surpassed 800,000 registered users, reflecting increasing youth engagement with digital learning and career development platforms across the country.

Kevin Frey praised the progress made under the initiative, saying the platform’s expanding reach demonstrates the ambition, talent and active participation of Pakistan’s youth.
Mr Frey stressed the need to further strengthen entrepreneurial and digital skills to prepare young people for future employment opportunities and foster innovation-led growth.
Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan described Pakistan’s youth bulge as a strategic national asset and emphasized the importance of sustained investment in skills development, employment creation and youth empowerment.
Mr Khan briefed the delegation on key reforms being pursued under PMYP, including the National Youth Employment Policy and the National Adolescent and Youth Policy, aimed at creating greater opportunities and an enabling environment for young people.
Both sides acknowledged the Digital Youth Hub as a transformative platform that connects youth with learning resources, mentorship, employment opportunities and career pathways.
They reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation to ensure inclusive youth development and greater economic participation.
The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to deepen collaboration between PMYP, Generation Unlimited and UNICEF to advance youth empowerment, expand digital access, enhance skills development and create sustainable employment opportunities for young people across Pakistan.
