ISLAMABAD, Jun 22 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police has finalized foolproof security arrangements for Muharram, as Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Muhammad Jawad Tariq on Sunday visited the routes of main processions to review preparations and issue instructions to officers on duty.

An official told APP that the DIG Tariq was accompanied by zonal SPs, SHOs, and other senior officials during the visit.

DIG Tariq said that Islamabad Police is committed to ensuring strict implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining peace throughout the holy month.

DIG Tariq said foolproof security measures are being put in place for all processions and gatherings taking place across the federal capital.

DIG said all necessary steps are being taken to promote inter-sect harmony and religious tolerance during Muharram.

He added that under the vision of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi efforts are being made to provide a peaceful and secure environment during this important period.
