ISLAMABAD, Dec 07 (APP):Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq chaired an important meeting attended by SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza and all station house officers (SHOs), to review the security situation and issue fresh directives for maintaining law and order in the federal capital.

An official told APP on Sunday that during the meeting, the DIG Tariq issued strict instructions to intensify security measures across Islamabad and ensure the safety of citizens through proactive policing.
He directed immediate action against illegally residing Afghan nationals, stating that there is solid evidence of such individuals’ involvement in various criminal activities.
He emphasised that the Islamabad Police would pursue a zero-tolerance policy against land grabbers, illegal arms holders, and drug traffickers, and ordered the SHOs to launch firm legal action against such elements.
DIG Tariq further instructed all officers to conduct targeted crackdowns against active gangs involved in heinous crimes, including groups responsible for car and motorcycle thefts.
He stressed the need to strengthen patrolling, enhance checking at key points, and make security duties more purposeful and effective.
He also directed that public complaints be resolved on a priority basis, ensuring timely assistance to citizens and restoring confidence in police service delivery.
The DIG Islamabad reiterated that all officers must remain fully alert and active to maintain peace and security in the federal capital, adding that safeguarding the lives and property of citizens remains the top priority of Islamabad Police.
