ISLAMABAD, May 10 (APP):Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Security/Special Branch Rana Umar Farooq conducted a detailed review of the overall performance, security situation and operational matters of the Special Branch Islamabad.
An official told APP on Sunday that AIG Special Branch Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider gave a comprehensive briefing regarding the performance of the Special Branch, Bomb Disposal Squad, K-9 Unit and other security-related matters.
He said the meeting discussed key issues related to enhancing operational capacity, addressing current security challenges and adopting modern policing strategies.
The official said detailed deliberations were also held on improving the professional capabilities of the force in line with modern requirements.
DIG Rana Umar issued necessary directions regarding shortage of personnel, ongoing construction projects and further strengthening the capabilities of the Bomb Disposal Squad and K-9 Unit.
He emphasized the need for modern training, timely provision of resources and effective coordination to improve operational efficiency so that any emergency situation could be handled effectively.
The DIG Rana Umar reaffirmed that Islamabad Police remained fully committed to protecting citizens’ lives and property, maintaining law and order and ensuring foolproof security in the federal capital.
