DIG orders strict action against illegal Afghans, proclaimed offenders, active gangs

ISLAMABAD, Jan 07 (APP):Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, chaired an important meeting regarding crime control and operational readiness, attended by SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza, SP Industrial Area Zone, SDPOs, DSP Investigation and SHOs of the zone.
A police spokesperson told APP on Wednesday that the DIG Islamabad conducted a detailed review of the crime situation and issued firm directions to all officers for effective law enforcement across the federal capital.
According to the spokesperson, the DIG Islamabad issued the following key instructions:
Illegal Afghans: Launch targeted operations and take firm legal action against illegally residing Afghans.
Murder & Attempted Murder Cases: Ensure immediate arrest of suspects involved in heinous crimes, especially murder and attempted murder.
Proclaimed Offenders: Intensify the campaign against proclaimed offenders, court absconders and members of active criminal gangs.
Illegal Weapons & Narcotics: Take strict action against those possessing illegal arms and involved in narcotics peddling.
Vehicle Theft: Crack down on motorcycle and car lifters operating in different areas.
Kite Selling & Aerial Firing: Take action against kite sellers, kite flyers and those involved in illegal celebrations.
Land Grabbers: Conduct operations against land mafia and ensure legal action without delay.
Investigation: Officers were directed to promptly conclude pending investigations and ensure merit-based outcomes.
The DIG Tariq emphasized that no negligence or laxity in duty will be tolerated. He said that protecting the life and property of citizens remains the top priority of Islamabad Capital Territory Police, which is fully committed to maintaining peace, enforcing the law and restoring public confidence.
