Dialogue and Democratic Process Only Solution to AJK Issues: Amir Muqam
ISLAMABAD, Jun 20 (APP):Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam Saturday said that the ongoing protests, sit-ins and disruption of normal life in Azad Jammu and Kashmir can only be resolved through dialogue and the democratic process.
Speaking on the situation in AJK, he said the government had made it clear to the action committee that their demands relate to matters falling within the jurisdiction of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Parliament.
He urged stakeholders to participate in elections and seek a public mandate, adding that elected representatives have the authority to make decisions regarding the future of the people.
“The solution lies in elections and the will of the people. Dialogue remains the only way forward,” the minister said.
