ISLAMABAD, Oct 14 (APP): The District Health Office (DHO) Islamabad is continuing free medical camps under its Mobile Health Services Unit to provide essential primary healthcare facilities to citizens at their doorsteps, particularly in remote and underserved communities.
According to official sources, the camps offer a range of healthcare services, including maternal and child health consultations, routine immunisation, nutritional assessment, screening and testing for various diseases, free medical examinations and the provision of medicines.
Health professionals also provide awareness sessions and counselling to educate people about disease prevention, healthy lifestyles and the importance of timely medical consultations.
The initiative aims to improve access to essential healthcare services for communities facing difficulties in reaching established health facilities, ensuring that vulnerable populations receive timely medical attention.
Through these outreach activities, the DHO Islamabad is working to strengthen preventive healthcare, promote early detection of diseases and improve public awareness about available health services.
The programme reflects continued efforts to extend quality primary healthcare beyond hospitals and health centres, bringing essential medical services closer to communities in need, they added.
