DGSE transfers to the Education Ministry in July 2024: Farah Naz

ISLAMABAD, Jan 14 (APP):Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training Farah Naz Akbar on Tuesday informed the National Assembly that the Directorate General of Special Education (DGSE) Islamabad was under the Ministry of Human Rights and had been transferred to the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training in July 2024.
Replying to calling attention notice regarding the lack of funds for essential services, including transportation for special children and utility payments, in the Directorate General of Special Education Islamabad, she said that the Ministry of Human Rights had allocated a budget of Rs 935.7 million for the special children’s directorate, of which Rs 726 million had been transferred to the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training so far.
Farah said that efforts were underway to streamline the budget shortfall while the directorate had 13 special centres, including five specifically for children’s education and eight supportive institutions, she added.
