ISLAMABAD, Jan 27 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police’s Director General Safe City and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joya held a meeting with field traffic officers to review traffic management and enforcement measures on major roads of the federal capital.
A police spokesperson told APP on Tuesday that during the meeting, the DG Safe City/DIG Traffic issued clear instructions to ensure smooth traffic flow on major arteries of Islamabad, strictly control lane and line violations, and take firm legal action against motorists violating traffic laws.
The spokesperson said detailed discussions were held on improving traffic discipline, reducing congestion on busy roads, and enhancing on-ground enforcement to facilitate citizens during peak hours.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Haroon Joya emphasized that lane discipline and adherence to traffic rules are essential for preventing accidents and ensuring safe and smooth movement of vehicles. He directed traffic officers to remain fully alert in the field and deal strictly with habitual violators without discrimination.
He further instructed officers to adopt a proactive approach, remain visible on major roads, and guide motorists to promote a culture of compliance with traffic laws.
The DG Safe City/DIG Traffic reiterated that Islamabad Traffic Police is committed to ensuring public safety, smooth traffic flow, and improved service delivery, adding that negligence or leniency in enforcement would not be tolerated.
