LAHORE, Dec 6 (APP): Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Brig (r) Dr Arshad Zia has paid visits of various districts of North & South Punjab for assessment
of available human resource and emergency equipment in order to enhance capacity of the districts.
He stated that the rescuers are pride of the nation, as these rescuers always risk their own lives to save the lives & properties of the others. The Regional Emergency Officers,
(North & South) Mr. Riffat Zia, Dr. Zaffar Shah and Head of Operations, Ayaz Aslam accompanied the Director General during these visits. This is first formal interactive visit of Brig.Dr. Arshad Zia as Director General of the Service. The main objective of these surprise visits was to assess available resources including human resource, emergency
ambulances, fire tenders, rescue vehicles, water bousers,aerial platforms, aerial turntable ladders, conditions of rescue stations and morale of the rescuers.
DG Rescue Punjab visited districts including Okara,Sahiwal, Vehari, Khanewal, Multan, Bahawalpur, Bhakkar, Rahim Yar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rojhan, Mianwali,
Toba Tek Singh, Chiniot, Faisalabad and others. During these visits, he inspected District Control Rooms, Main & Sub Rescue Stations, Emergency Vehicles, Emergency Equipment, Emergency Call Listening/ Monitoring Systems, and examined emergency services delivery of the districts. He also interacted with the District Emergency Officers, Emergency Officers, Rescue & Safety Officers, Control Room In-charges, Station Coordinators, Shift In-charges, Fire Rescuers, Emergency Medical Technicians, Computer Telephone Wireless Operators,
and other staff. He felt proud of those rescuers, who participated in Search & Rescue Operation at Sundar Industrial Estate Factory Collapse and successfully evacuated 103 live victims.
