Deptt of Coastal and Delta Studies established in University of Sindh

HYDERABAD, Dec 9 (APP): The management of University of Sindh Jamshoro achieved another milestone by establishing the Department of Coastal and Delta Studies in its Thatta Campus on Wednesday.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Abida Tahirani inaugurated the Department at a ceremony which was attended by Senator Sassui Palijo as a chief guest, the university spokesman said.The ceremony also followed by the distribution of certificates and shields among the first batch of the campus students after completion of MBA, the spokesman added.

While addressing the participants, the Vice Chancellor said that University of Sindh is making all out efforts to provide higher education facilities to youth particularly girls at their nearest.
Dr Abida said opening of campuses in other districts of the province including Thatta is the part of such hectic services of the management.

She said that establishment of the Department of Coastal and Delta Studies in Thatta Campus will help the students to carry out their research work on oceanography, which ultimately assist the authorities concerned to carry out development in coastal and deltas of the country.

Senator Sassui Palijo while speaking on the occasion praised the efforts of the University management for opening the Campus and introducing an essential discipline of oceanography.

She assured the university management for approaching the provincial government for financial assistance to Thatta Campus as well as the development of coastal belt of the province.

Among others Dr Manzoor Soomro, Dr Inam, MPA Abdul Wahid Soomro, Pro-Vice Chancellor Thatta Campus Prof Dr Sarfraz Hussain Splangi and Director IBA Dr Imamuddin Khoso also addressed the participants of the ceremony.
