ISLAMABAD, Oct 05 (APP): Citizens across Islamabad have been urged through mobile phone messages to eliminate stagnant water, keep water containers covered and protect themselves from mosquito bites.
Dengue prevention messages sent to Islamabad residents
According to official sources, as part of intensified dengue prevention efforts in the capital, the awareness messages were disseminated to mobile users to encourage public participation in preventing mosquito breeding and reducing the risk of dengue transmission.
They added the District Health Office urged residents to keep their homes and surroundings clean, remove standing water and cooperate with dengue surveillance and vector control teams.
Health authorities emphasized that timely preventive measures and active community participation were essential to controlling dengue and protecting public health in the capital.
They said that District Health Officer Islamabad Dr Syeda Rashida Batool visited Union Councils Tarlai and Jhang Syedan to review field activities of dengue surveillance and vector control teams.
During the visits, she reviewed the identification of mosquito breeding sites, detection of larvae, elimination of breeding grounds and public awareness measures being undertaken by the teams.
Dr Rashida directed the teams to ensure effective surveillance, prompt action against potential breeding sites and continued community awareness to prevent the spread of dengue.
