Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal on Thursday chaired a meeting to review ongoing dengue prevention measures in Islamabad, with officials directed to strengthen surveillance, coordination and public awareness to contain the spread of the disease.
Dengue control measures in capital reviewed

ISLAMABAD, Oct 01 (APP): Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal on Thursday chaired a meeting to review ongoing dengue prevention measures in Islamabad, with officials directed to strengthen surveillance, coordination and public awareness to contain the spread of the disease.
The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary, Director General Health, heads of hospitals, District Health Officer Islamabad, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and representatives of the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
The District Health Officer Islamabad briefed the meeting on ongoing dengue control activities and the progress made so far.
The meeting was informed that September, October and November were the peak months for dengue transmission, while timely preventive measures had contributed to a decline in reported cases.
The minister directed the relevant departments to maintain effective surveillance and coordinated preventive measures and continue public awareness activities.
He stressed that there should be no negligence in the ongoing dengue control measures and called for timely planning and preparation of a comprehensive strategy for the next year.
The meeting also reviewed coordination among health, district administration and civic authorities to strengthen dengue prevention and response efforts in Islamabad.
