Delegation visits Iranian embassy to convey condolences

ISLAMABAD, Mar 04 (APP):A delegation of the District Peace Committee visited the Embassy of Iran in Islamabad to convey condolences to Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri-Moghaddam and express solidarity with the Iranian people.
The delegation was led by Chairman District Peace Committee and religious scholar Maulana Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal Rizvi.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the prevailing regional and global situation and conveyed grief over the reported martyrdom of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
Members of the delegation expressed solidarity with the people of Iran and offered prayers for peace and stability.
Speaking on the occasion, Rizvi said that people in Pakistan were deeply saddened by the development and stood in solidarity with the Iranian nation. He emphasised the need for unity among Muslim countries in the face of growing global tensions.
“In the current global circumstances, the Muslim Ummah urgently needs unity, wisdom and mutual respect,” he said, adding that cooperation among Muslim countries was essential for lasting peace and stability in the region.
The delegation included Allama Ashfaq Wahidi, Allama Qasim Ayub, Allama Usman Ghani, Dr Shehzad Dilawar, Maulana Nasir Amin, Sahibzada Yasir Iqbal Rizvi, Malik Asghar Khan Babar, Maulana Qari Abdul Rasool Chishti and Khurram Latif Khan.
Ambassador Amiri-Moghaddam thanked the delegation for their visit and for expressing solidarity, and reaffirmed the importance of strengthening the longstanding relations between Pakistan and Iran. The meeting concluded with prayers for peace, progress and stability in Pakistan, Iran and the wider Muslim world.
