ISLAMABAD, Dec 16 (APP): Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain Tuesday ruled out imposition of Governor rule in Sindh province and hoped the situation would improve in the coming days.
The Federal Government has many other options under which other steps could be considered, but it was committed to strengthen democracy and bringing improvement in law and order in the port city of Karachi.
He was talking to a group of reporters at a reception hosted by Kazakhstan Ambassador to Pakistan Bakhytbek Shabarbayeu on the occasion of 24th Independence Anniversary of his country at a hotel here.
Tanveer Hussain was the chief guest and joined Kazak ambassador and others to cut the cake on the occasion.
The national anthems of the two countries were also played at the reception attended by envoys from Western and Muslim countries.
There was a lot of potential in enhancing bilateral trade and defence relations between the two countries but the main hurdle in its way was the connectivity, he told APP when questioned on the prospects of bolstering ties between the two sides.
He said both countries were already working to start the cargo and passenger flights between Astana, the Kazakh capital and Islamabad.
The ambassador of Kazakhstan has already sought permission from the authorities concerned in his country, he said while he had taken up the issue with the Civil Aviation to sort it out.
Pakistan was already exporting $33 millions worth of fruits, textile, pharmaceutical and other items to Kazakhstan but the scope was far great to boost bilateral trade between the two countries which enjoy very close relations, the minister said.
