Defence Day reminds nation of duties towards country: Governor

KARACHI, Sep 06 (APP):Governor of Sindh Imran Ismail Thursday
said National Defence Day reminds the nation to remain vigilant and
fully cautious of internal as well external threats to the country.
Addressing a ceremony arranged by the Southern Air Command of
Pakistan Air Force at the Masroor base (Mauripur) here, he said
September 1965 war is a golden chapter of the national history during
which the country’s gallant forces had nudged the enemy much powerful
in terms of size and strength.
“The day is a reminder that unity among the nation can help
surmount every challenge and also that no compromise could be made
in defending geographical as well as ideological boundaries of the
country,” said the Sindh Governor.
He particularly hailed the PAF pilots who played crucial role
in the defeat of the enemy during the 17-day long war.
“We can not simply forget our heroes belonging to all three
services of the armed forces and above all the martyrs who laid down
their lives for us and the coming generations,” said Imran Ismail.
Earlier, Commander, Southern Air Command, Air Vice Marshal,
Chaudhri Ahsan Rafiq received the Governor and accompanied him
during the inspection of JF Thunder, Mirage and other models
of PAF aircraft.
The chief guest got intermingled with the other guests
including serving and retired officials of Pakistan Air Force.
