DC orders urban forest, parks upgradation in Abdul Hakeem
KHANEWAL, Sep 02 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Hina Arshad on Wednesday visited Abdul Hakeem city to review ongoing and proposed initiatives to improve green cover and ordered upgrading parks and developing urban forest on state land adjacent to government boys college.
The visit was aimed at enhancing greenery and improving recreational facilities for citizens in line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Green Punjab vision.
During the visit, Hina Arshad directed officials to speed up proceedings on all initiatives including the urban forest and upgrading city parks saying the initiative is aimed at increasing green cover, improving the urban environment and providing a healthier atmosphere for residents.
She sought expedited work on upgradation and beautification of Khursheedia Park, stressing the need to improve public recreational spaces and ensure better facilities for visitors.
Assistant Commissioner Kabirwala Dr Haroon Shiraz and the Chief Officer Municipal Committee accompanied her during the visit.
