DC for strict action against partial lockdown violations

MULTAN, Apr 10 (APP):The district administration has intensified enforcement measures against violations of lockdown timings imposed in view of the ongoing petrol crisis.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nauman Saddique has directed enforcement teams to take strict action against those ignoring official business hours, ordering immediate registration of cases and arrests where necessary. The partial lockdown has been introduced under the Punjab government’s directives to regulate economic activity and manage fuel availability.
The decisions were finalized during a meeting chaired by the deputy commissioner, attended by district administration officials and law enforcement representatives to review compliance and monitoring arrangements.
Under the revised instructions, all markets, shops, plazas and shopping malls must close by 8:00 PM. However, essential services including bakeries, medical stores, clinics, laboratories, tandoors, and milk and dairy outlets will remain exempted from the restrictions. Petrol pumps and CNG stations have also been allowed to operate to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply.
Marriage halls, marquees, restaurants and hotels have been instructed to shut operations completely by 10:00 PM, while private events and functions have been restricted with strict compliance to notified timings made mandatory.
The Deputy Commissioner announced that enforcement actions would begin immediately against violators, stressing that no leniency would be shown. He appealed to citizens and the trader community to cooperate with the administration’s austerity drive and demonstrate civic responsibility during the fuel crisis.
The district administration has reiterated its commitment to ensuring full implementation of government orders to maintain public discipline and manage resources effectively during the ongoing situation.
